Nurse arraigned in murder of mom-in-law

Police say a San Jose nurse killed her mother-in-law in a machete attack because her wife was ending their marriage. The San Jose Mercury News reports ( http://bit.ly/yJlbB3) that 40-year-old Sagal Sadiq was arraigned Thursday on a murder charge. She did not enter a plea and said nothing during the hearing.

According to a police report, Sadiq became angry after Minima Kirk texted her from Puerto Rico to say their relationship was over. Kirk told authorities that she had endured years of abuse.
